This rescue is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who work endlessly to find 5* homes for many dogs in need.
Our passion lies with saving Romanian dogs, saving them from the streets, kill shelters and abusive situations.
Why Romania people ask?
Romania's problem with high numbers of strays began in the 80's and has gradually got worse. Citizens were forced out of their homes and made to relocate where they could no longer take their pets. Dogs were thrown out on the streets due to this and so massive breeding from all the street dogs occurred. Romania has approximately 500,000 strays and is one of the poorest European countries. Many stray dogs are captured and either tortured or slaughtered when kill shelters are full, often happens in the kill shelters too. Many dogs are treated appalling some have water thrown over them to freeze them during winter months as they are left outside. Some succumb to illnesses that never get treated and so suffer until they close their eyes. Puppies are often used as footballs by children on the street. Old and Infirm dogs are often ripped apart by fellow dogs due to lack of food and starvation. At Hope4Homes our love for dogs knows no borders we simply want to save lives and show these dogs what it is like to be loved and looked after.
We do help UK dogs when we are in a position to do so, but we primarily work with Romanian dogs as that is were our knowledge and expertise are.
Our fabulous team are here to answer any questions and make the adoption process as clear and as easy as we can. They will interview you, get to know you and your experience and expectations, whilst they arrange everything from in person homechecks, passports, contracts, vaccinations, microchips, to transport over to the UK for the dogs.
H4H is a registered charity with the Charity Commission, since June 2024.
H4H brings dogs into the UK under the 'Balai Directive', which is for commercial imports and rescue pets for rehoming. This requires the dogs to have a rabies vaccine, a microchip, a full health check from a vet and be issued with an Intra Trade Animal Health Certificate (ITAHC), in addition to a passport.
H4H has an approved import license from APHA
H4H does provide Rescue Back Up.
H4H does look at each application individually, we are not a one size fits all rescue. If you have children, other pets, work a few hours a day, we are still happy to look for a dog who would suit, providing a successful homecheck is completed and you are a match for a dog.
H4H does require that all homes, have a private, secure garden at least 5ft fencing. This is non negotiable for safety reasons.
